T20 World Cup record:
2007: Group stage
2009: Withdrew
2010: Group stage
Coach: Alan Butcher
Cricketing minnows Zimbabwe drew the shortest of short straws in being placed in the same group as T20 powerhouses Sri Lanka and South Africa. Despite their lowly ranking, recent results in the last few years suggest Zimbabwean cricket is on the way up.
Strengths: Brendan Taylor. Zimbabwe's hopes rest largely in the hands of their captain who also doubles as wicketkeeper and key batsman. Another possible advantage is their unpredictability, as many of the team don't have huge experience at international level
Weaknesses: To put it bluntly, Zimbabwe are ranked 14th for a reason. They don't yet have the depth of talent or the experience to challenge the heavyweights over a three week tournament.
Zimbabwe will be buoyed be recent victories over South Africa in the lead up the the World Cup, but all things being equal they will be one of the first teams out of the tournament. Their logo is a fair indication of how far they have to go.
