Team preview: New Zealand

T20 World ranking: 5th
T20 World Cup record:
2007: Semi-finals
2009: Super Eights
2010: Super Eights

Coach: Mike Hesson

As their ranking and record suggests, New Zealand is a team that is always around the mark and with their never-say-die attitude are always tough to beat.

Strengths: The Kiwis have a very balanced, even team with the star power provided by the batting of Taylor and 'keeper McCullum and the spin bowling of Vettori. They are always competitive and consistent performers.
Weaknesses: Their bowling perhaps looks a bit thin and while it is a balanced team, it is filled with good players but not necessarily great ones, which is why it doesn't go deep into tournaments.

If New Zealand can negotiate its way through a tricky initial group, it will fancy its chances of pinching a semi-final spot from what is arguably the weaker Super Eight group. Can't see them going all the way though.
