Team preview: Pakistan

T20 World ranking: 6th
T20 World Cup record:
2007: Runner up
2009: Champions
2010: Semi-finals

Coach: Dav Whatmore

Pakistan have been the best performed team over past three tournaments, despite it being a chaotic period of time for the team both on and off the field.

Strengths: Pakistan has a large number of players seemingly perfectly geared for T20 cricket; crafty, explosive and versatile. Shahid Afridi leads a long list off all-round players who can turn a game with bat or ball
Weaknesses: Teams are unlikely to be intimidated by their fast bowling stocks, which appear more likely to contain batting orders than tear them apart. Could not choosing more specialist batsmen or bowlers be a mistake?

For some reason T20 cricket seems to fit the temperament of the Pakistani team, which can be a bit hit-and-miss in longer forms of the game. They have enough match-winners to be there at the end of the tournament, but are equally capable of imploding spectacularly.
