Team preview: Bangladesh

T20 World ranking: 8th
T20 World Cup record:
2007: Super Eights
2009: Group stage
2010: Group stage

Coach: Richard Pybus

Bangladesh come into one of the toughest groups in the tournament of the back of recent defeats to Scotland and the Netherlands, both of whom failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup.

Strengths: The Tigers undoubtedly have talent, although they have struggled to turn that into results. They will enjoy the familiarity of sub-continental conditions. Tamim Iqbal is a potential star in the making.
Weaknesses: As mentioned above, Bangladesh isn't in the greatest form and the gulf between their best and worst performances is quite vast. Neither their batting or bowling will cause many sleepless nights for their opponents.

What is in Bangladesh's favour is that in such a cut-throat group stage, one good performance may see them through to the Super Eights. And with T20 being such a quick game, it may only take a dynamic performance from one player, such as Iqbal, to achieve that. That would be it for them though.
