First world title after 33 years

West Indies 137 for 6 (Samuels 78, Sammy 26*, Mendis 4-12) beat Sri Lanka 101 (Jayawardene
There were celebrations all over the ground, as the West Indies defeated the host nation by 36 runs in a low scoring final.
The Gangnam- style was all over Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo on Sunday night as the cricket team celebrated their ICC World Twenty20 tournament. They won a world cup after 33 years and the start of a new golden chapter for Caribbean cricket.

The team that loves to have fun while at the same time have their fun were cheering the grounds and their smiles wouldn’t go off their faces.
Chris Gayle a superstar player was full of joy. With Chris Gayle at the crease, Sri Lanka was always in danger. But this wasn’t Gayle’s night, on an individual level at least, as he was out for just three runs after facing 16 deliveries. In a typical T20 match, Gayle would usually have scored 30 or more runs after facing that many balls. But this wasn’t a typical match, it was a major final, when strange things happen and the nervous are up high.
The West Indies ended on 137 for 6 while Sri Lanka were all out on 101.
It was also going to be hard for the  Sri Lankans losing in their home country and in front of a 35,000 crowd.
The West Indies captain was all over the moon. "We will definitely cherish this moment Sammy said. "We're going to relive it every day of our lives." This is the best moment for me in any cricket.  "We have some of the most experienced Twenty20 players."
West Indies won the toss elected to bat, soon they lost their first wicket. Soon later they got the master Chris Gayle LBW.
At 14-2 was a very poor start to their batting but the capitain came to the rescue with hitting 3 sixes.
Soon later the Sri Lanka got another main wicket of the capitan finishing him at 78 runs.
When West Indies came to bat they knew it was always going to be hard, but very soon Dilshan was out in no time.
After a few more overs they were lost 4-13 and their were smiles on the West Indies players .
On cue, Narine delivered Kulasekara's wicket. The birthday boy, Bravo, who had got a shocker from the umpire when he batted, was the man at the end of the two catches that finished the match.

The time had finally arrived to party, and West Indies partied as well as they had played.
As the last wicket was taken the West Indies started celebrating like never before, a very deserved win.
